600 Electrical problems
So I have my 600 at the shop because I wanted to get LED turn signals installed and my fogs wired independently. One thing that happened during the wiring process was that they could not get the fogs to work because one was negative and the other was positive?? Not sure exactly what he meant by this.
Long story short they took the bumper off to try and work on the fogs and when the put it back on the car no longer turned off. The power button would now work and the car stayed on. They had to unplug a harness for the dash and car to turn off. Any ideas on what could cause this?

I wonder if they tried to tap power via the ignition relay and it put the start button in some sort of loop to remain always on...ask them how they set up the wiring for independent fogs. I have an after market hid fog setup and just independently wired those with wire , relay and seperate switch and left factory wires untouched

Had to take it to the Lexus dealer. Immediately they were not trying to warranty it because I had a sound system in the trunk. I told them up theirs and to prove it, and Im still waiting on a response. These cars sure are tricky and a pain...

I agree with you that they should "prove it". However, I can see their reluctance since clearly by your description it was the shop you used who caused the problem. If you do have to pay the dealer to fix it, I would recover the cost from the shop that broke it in the first place.

^^ I agree. It sounds like the car worked fine when you brought it to your shop and didn't work after they messed around with it with the install of the LEDs. I don't understand why this is Lexus' problem. The shop you took it to should be the one fixing the problem even if they have to pay Lexus to fix it.

No disrespect to the OP but it's situations like these that cause dealers to neglect valid warranty claims.. clearly the shop or person who did the install screwed up & those are the one's who you should be going after, furthermore when they're fixing the car & going through the flowchart they're gonna knkw exactly what caused it anyway.

what did the original shop say? They are the folks who probably tapped into your ignition relay to get power for the LEDs and fugged it all up.....what did they have to say about that??..did they reverse engineer the install to see what happened? And yes, these cars are a pain, but it is also a rolling data center minus the raised floor tiles!! I wanted to wire my fogs independent like Shibumi's car..but he is a master of his craft in the world of electronics and car installs..so I cheated and just wired a completely stand alone circuit and not touching the car wiring in order to run my fogs without the parking or headlights on
