I guess it depends on the price of gasoline but here in Atlanta it costs me about $75 - $80 for a complete fill and i get about 500 - 525 miles total highway driving on a full tank.

I live in DC and gas is about $3.60/gallon and it usually cost me between $75-80 when I full up when the gas meter says "low fuel" (when you have less gas then the gas remaining in miles. example below the 35 miles remaining mark). I typically get about 16mpg in the city, and on average about 280miles total in the city. It sucks, but thats the price you pay when driving a luxury V8 engine premium gas only in the city.

One gets awesome gas mileage on the LS driving at speeds of 75-80 mph consistently. In fact, when the speed limit is 70, i usually set the radar cruise at 77 and let it "fly". I love driving long distances on this car. I usually get between 25 and 29 mpg at this speed depending on weather conditions.

Here in FL, premium prices are around 2.50 per gal and the wife usually pays around 67-70 to fill up and she gets about 430-450 miles on a tank at about 22mpg ish. We haven't taken it on the highway much since we bought it but I got about 27-29 mpg on the way home after I bought it out of town. So i would guess 500+ on the highway. Gas Mileage is awesome to me with its weight and power.

.....how much does it cost to fill up on a tank of gas?

I had to chuckle at this when I read it. It depends who is filling up the tank. My wife gets nervous as the gauge starts to get close to half a tank. So she fills up taking only about 9 gallons.

I usually don't fill my tank until the dash light blinks "YOU ARE DRIVING ON FUMES, GET GAS NOW!"

Not to be a nay-sayer, nor to get into any political commentary, but ..........

Many mechanics have told me that they seem to work on far more cars where the car owners (ie, generally of the male species) seem to wait until the last moment (or nearly so) before buying gas.
The reason is the fuel system picks up more "crap" from the bottom of the gas tank (dirt, etc) than it would otherwise, if the tank is not run regularly near empty.

You can poo-poo this an some mythical loonie-bin idea, but facts are facts. At any rate, I fill up at least at the 1/4 left mark and never less. Wow ! This might make for a unique New Year's Resolution suggestion for some of y'all. LOL !
By the way ....... Merry Christmas !

I didn't even know the light flashes when your about to run out. I thought when it says "Low Fuel" that meant GET GAS NOW because your riding on fumes.

My cruising range was assuming about 25mpg highway driving only and going about 75 - 80 mph. Any city drving will significantly lower that number. I only get about 16 mpg city driving. Assuming my mpg and your commute, I would guess you would get about 20 - 21 mpg overall. I would think that would be a cruising range of 420 - 440 miles on a full tank of gas.

Driving habits, stop and go traffic, etc. would certainly affect the number.

The car holds 23 gallons. @ $3.60 per premium gallon that would be $83 minus however many residual gallons are left at fill up. At 23MPG (the EPA sticker for my 2009 All Wheel Drive LS460 Short Wheel Base) range would be 529 miles from real full to totally empty. So about 500 miles would be the right answer. Unless you drive easy and get closer to 30MPG as I recently did on a trip. In which case 600-650 miles would be the range. Or more likely drive normally to calmly and have a range of about 550-575 miles.

550 or more is usually no problem but my best was 602 and although the range still showed close to 50 miles left, we were heading over the mountains at night so a fill up was the smart move especially since it took almost 21 gallons to fill.

To sum it all up, everyone drives differently. Gas is going to depend on how you drive. When I drive, I open all 8 cylinders and use all 380 horses to remind folks that I'm driving Lexus top of the line vehicle (minus the LFA).
