A while back, I seem to recall reading that 2010 and later model year LS cars could go 10,000 miles on synthetic oil and that the warranty would be honored accordingly. Yet I look at the manuals online and do not see that. Am I crazy or wasn't there some place where the 10K oil change was permitted? (I know...the answer MIGHT be both that I AM crazy AND...)
I'm really not sure but I would not personally wait 10k. I would do it every 5k to be safe. It's relatively cheap and good maintence for such a nice car. Just my 2 cents
My 07 has 75000 miles on it, its ONLY had synth oil changes by the various dealers here in So Cal every 10,000. I dont see any issues, it holds 9 quarts and is filtered well. The three dealers that provided the service on this vehicle were all Lexus and all did the change in 10,000 intervals.
I bought the car CPO so its honored by Lexus
I now do the service my self and change out the Mobil 1 every 7500 miles, it always looks new when I drop it and my miles are 50% highway and 50% surface streets
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds 5K burdensome. I have 4 cars in the family so my goal is to reduce service visits since I am not a do it myselfer.
Does not the service light come on before the 10k mark? Mine is on right now and hate that I can't get that sucker off my instrument panel! Any words of advice of how to get it off?
The service thingie is just an alarm clock that goes off 5000 miles after the last reset. It does not actually sample the oil or even, as in my daughter's Honda, use some sort of computer logarithm that computes time and mileage to "know" when to change oil. So for 10,000 mile oil changes, just reset it at 5K yourself (it won't know you didn't really change the oil) as follows:
1. Turn on the engine.
2. Set your tripometer to "A"
3. Turn engine off
4. With everything still off push AND HOLD the trip odometer "reset" button
5. While doing #4 turn the CAR on, but not the engine. In other words, push the start button until the dash lights come on and continue holding the RESET button. In about 5 seconds the display will show that the oil change reminder has reset has been "COMPLETED".

And so are the new Jags. Coincidently both manufacturers offer free maintenance service during the warranty period. You don't suppose that would have something to do with extending the service periods? ..................................... Nah!
Yeah, but even vehicles that are supposed to have oil changed merely every 5000 miles require the same oil. So the question is can one go 10,000 on 0w-20 synthetic, and is the much cheaper Toyota synthetic that can be bot on Ebay as good as the Mobil1 that can be had for about $6.50/qt at Walmart?
