So, I gotta know -- anyone ever have a problem after this safety recall was done? I am very nervous about having it done. I would really appreciate any input or opinions. Thanx.

 

My 07 runs better after the repair than before, I suspect my valves may have been out of adjustment as it would tend to put out a touch of smoke when I stepped on it.. that completely disappeared once I had the VSR performed and it idles much smoother now also.

No regrets..

 

9K miles after valve spring recall and engine could not run better.

Im glad you stopped with the blue it was hurting my eyes lol

on topic. You wont have any problems plus they will extend your engine warranty. They have a special tool just for removing valve springs from the LS lol

Just go to the dealer you trust the most or has the best reviews in your area. Otherwise, nothing to worry about. Only the top technicians in each dealership is trained and given the task.

 

I think my LS drives better since the recall work, aslo have driven to DE from the ATL twice with no issues!

 

Mine was done this past January and runs well BUT my gas mileage has been off about 2-3 MPG since. The service rep says it had nothing to do with it but nothing else has changed. I know it is a stretch but I'm wondering if the heavier springs are the reason. If I had it to do over I would let one break first.

 

I'm not sure if that's a good idea to wait for a valve spring to break when Lexus is replacing them for no charge......

 

Frankly, I'd be more worried if I didn't have it done.

The only thing I did was wait until they had done a bunch of them so they weren't learning on my car. However, it doesn't appear as even this was an issue.

If the percentage of failures is as low as stated I would take my chances.
