Mine goes in Thursday for the update and going from 7.1 which the car came with to 11.1 should make enough difference in the database to justify the price, $169.00 and $60.00 for the install plus tax.

Just in time for our trip to SEMA.

Default There is a BETTER alternative to a "Lexus GPS Upgrade"

For $110, an external Garmin 1350 GPS .........

-- Works in a a FAR superior manner

-- Is portable (to other vehicles or while you're hiking (not me.....but possibly you .....LOL)

-- Contains FAR more useful data and operational benefits.

-- Oh ! And I can change the moving vehicle appearance and use a super hot Australian female voice for commands as well ! (Lots of other choices as well).

And yes ....... I DO have "NAV" and have installed the Prestige Society mod as well.

I only like my "nav" screen to know who's singing and what the song title is, on the radio.

LOL>

Y'all play carefully now, ya'hear ? !

My understanding is that this has been rolled out company wide. Every dealer should be able to do the update. You might want to change dealers.

i use navigon and sometimes magellan on my Iphone - they (both of them) are 10 times better and have more features than that crap navigation system in my $70,000 car.

lexus should be ashamed of themselves for keeping that 2001 navigation sytsem - they are at least 10 years behind the rest of the world. The map update is a waste - i get them for free for my iphone apps.

I guess I am confused ?

When you can buy, this weekend, from Newegg and others, a Garmin 1350 or 1450 – WITH LIFETIME MAP AND TRAFFIC UPDATES (Included !!!!!!!) for less than $145 !!! (Shipping and tax normally included) – why would anyone consider “updating” an extremely poorly designed NAV system. One that once “updated” for an outrageous fee, still not function all that well.

Just my 2 cents worth. And by no means do I intend to offend anyone. Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Holiday !

LOL>> I feel the same way. Its my wifes car and she is complaining that it doesnt have some of the streets. She actually likes the NAVI and we have the traffic on there too. I would prefer not to spend the $$ but for about $200 im ok with the upgrade but $330+ is too much

Well, I don't want a small piece of garbare mounted on my windshield with the suction caps. The original Navi is beautifuly integrated into the vehicle.
