Default clicking sounds

Whats up! I have an 07 LS460 with 65k miles.

Within last couple days I noticed a clicking sound when reversing and accelerating forward slowly.
This occurs most of the time when accelerating while wheel is turning (like after you back out of driveway and slowly turn straight to pull away)

I've also noticed the click when pulling into garage and braking.

Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the cause and fix?

My car an 08 with 49k miles is at the dealer for the exact same problem. I thought it was shims or the clips in the pad my advisor said it was the brake actuator. Still waiting to see what they changed. I dont think its the acuator because if I stomp the brake pedal theres no click only backing in and out the driveway when turning the steering wheel. Also complained about the windnoise lol again. They ve done everything so far. I told them to order me doors from a 2010+ and it should solve the problem.

I bet those doors are being painted as we type to match your car before being readied for shipment! Anyway, let us know if they resolved the clicking.

Gamma: is the brake actuator covered by warranty? or out of pocket? With Lexus warranty more than likely out of pocket.

What's the cost of the part?

Got my car back it was the upper strut mount and lower control arm. They also fixed the windnoise from the drivers side. The only problem is now I hear the passenger side windnoise lol

I can't believe this, I have the exact same problem! Mine it's an 07 LS460 with 60k miles and I just bought it like a week ago. At first, I thought there was something loose in the trunk but there was nothing in the trunk. I checked the spare tire cabin for loose part but found nothing. I mostly hear the sound at slow speed especially when make a turn or exiting the garage. I guess it's time to take the car in for check-up.

Sounds like maybe the rear axle nuts need to be retorque. Does it sound like it's coming from the wheels ? Try power braking the car, by holding the brake with left foot and right slightly tapping the gas.

What was the cost for parts? I had a tech take a quick look at it today and he says he's almost certain that it's the bushings for the control arm...says if it is that it's about a $4000 part!! WTF! The reason why I left my 750li to this 460 was to eliminate headaches!!!

Any news from your check up on this? My problem is getting worse (louder and more of a grinding click now.)

My 2008 LS460 with 34,000 miles is making the same noise when putting the car in reverse or accelerating. I had it looked at by the Lexus dealer Head diagnostic specialist (shop foreman). It does not appear to be the brake actuator, as the clicking noise appears to be coming from the rear of the car and when the car is under "torque" situation. Perhaps it is something in the propeller shaft or nuts on the rear axle that need to be torque again. He has some ideas for the cause and agrees it is a axle/propeller shaft issue. It goes to the dealer the week after Thanksgiving.

I finally took the car in to the dealer to check out the noise problem. I was told the noise is coming from the sunroof tracks. Something is loose up there towards the rear, and that is why the sound appears to be coming from the rear.
To fix it, my service advisor said they will have to rip the roof apart. Minimum labor for that is 8 hours and I could be looking at about $1200 in labor cost.
I told him since the sunroof still works I could live with the ocassional rattling sound for now. Does anyone know how easy it is to get the sunroof tracks?

Re: Clicking noise
[B]I have the answer and the solution!
I had the same problem with my 2007 LS 460; It was a bolt issue with a steel plate under the car near the engine.
This steel protection plate is held on with several bolts which had come loose enough to allow this heavy steel plate to shift when you turn the car. The dealer was able to fix it for $100.( probably $5.00 +$95.00 search time.
Hope this helps.
