Default exhaust tips removal?

Anyone done it or knows how to? I tugged on one a bit and it felt like its just hanging there but didnt want to take it right off in fear that it wouldnt go back on. A buddy of mines recommended a solution that you can dip them in and it'll take most of the black off and then some minor scuffing to get it to shine. if I can get them off, I'll try it and post results.

If you are trying to clean them I used an earlier post that suggested using steal wool and mild rubbing compound; Worked fine.

I would try the rubbing compound first. I scratched mine using ultra fine steel wool. There is a product called "never dull" that works pretty well. I think they sell it Checker, Auto Zone etc.

Now thats just funny.

My problem is that at 6'3, besides sitting on the ground, theres no comfortable position to actually clean them. Id rather just take them off and take my time cleaning and polishing them.

Probably be less hassle and cheaper to hire a 'short peron' to polish them. lol
