Default Bluetooth Phone Book Dilemna

I'm trying to add a contact with an extension into the Phone Book on my LS460. The system doesn't seem to recognize a soft pause. I tried the # and * signs and the pause button with no response. I called the Lexus Helpline and they didn't have a solution and will get back to me.

Surely, Lexus didn't overlook this. I have an iPhone 4 and the car has NAV and ML. I want the Lexus phone to dial all of the digits like my iPhone. Any ideas?

The method I described to you over the phone might not work while the vehicle is in motion. You might want to set up your extension (and password if you have one) as a Speed Tone. It is covered in the manual, but not too well.
This is not only an LS 460 issue, but accross all Gen 5 systems.

I tried the speed tone Greg but I think it defeats the purpose of "handsfree". It is better than physically dialing every digit though.

Can u help me with the following:

1. NAV map shows symbols for all Starbucks...remember we looked up the nearest Starbucks from your place...worked great BTW...how do I remove those symbols?

2. The car's interior has a nice, distinct fragrance. We like it very much. Is that due to the new cabin/seat filters or something else. I'd like to keep it smelling fresh like it does now.

Big thanks for your helpful tips. This car is special and I find myself remaining in the garage after returning home listening to the ML or just discovering new features. I feel very fortunate and blessed to be a Lexus owner again after 8 years.

To get rid of POIs you can give the voice command "POI Off" or "Hide All Icons". An alternate method would be to use the touch screen and select "Map View" then "POI Icons" and choose which ones you want to remove.

I believe the best way to keep the cabin smelling fresh is to change the cabin filters at least every year. This is more frequent than the recommended schedule, but they are cheap (online) and easy to replace.
The seat filters don't need to be replaced nearly as frequently, but it's a good idea to remove them and clean them once a year.

I also recommend using a quality spray leather conditioner (I like Maguire’s). I don't recommend thick creams or paste because they can clog the perforations. It's important not to over-condition your leather, usually once before summer and once in the fall (before you start using the seat heaters a lot). It will help retain the leather fragrance.

I hope this helps.

BTW, your touch-up paint is in the mail.
