The SA really didn't explain it well, since I knew it was operator error and they weren't charging me, I didn't press it.

 

Same thing happened to me. Dealer folks couldn't figure it out. Said take to body shop. Made appointment for them to removed seats and try to fix. That night managed to work out the item that was jammed, but trunk would only open 1/8 inch with metal key. Read about fix in another forum and it worked. Disconnnected the positive side of battery, waited 30 secs. Problem solved. At first it would only open with metal key, but I discovered the Valet Lock Out in glove compartment had set itself to "On." Unset this and everything worked fine.

 

Should have said you have to reconnect the battery after the 30 second wait, of course.

 

My 2007 460 trunk is stuck open. this isn't asolution to your problem -- maybe its a trend

 

What does "stuck open" mean? Are you saying that the retractor will not pull it completely closed? Or, are you saying the lift struts are holding it up? Or are you saying that something else is preventing you from pushing it closed?

 

My trunk was stuck open. It turned out the motor in the hinge was jamed. the dealer was able to repair it for about $ 52.00. labor.
