Default '11 Avalon, 08 LS 460 or LS 460 L?

Ok, so this has likely been discussed but I haven't seen much, and well I'm wondering what folks think.

A new 2011 Avalon Limited $37,000 (Trading in my 2008 Touring Edition Avalon) getting $16,500 +- for my trade or

2007 LS 460 with 42,000 miles on it for $35,000 and getting $15,000 for my trade.

Older Lexus with mileage or new Avalon with no miles?

I put on 35,000 + miles a year (my 2008-bought in 2009, has 65,000+ on it)

Skip

And now you throw into the mix, a 2008 LS 460 L with 44,000 miles that will cost about $1,000.00 more, and I'm REAL confused

Miles no Miles
Warranty no warranty
Regular Gas vs premium gas
Cost of repairs
Want vs need

Less to register
maybe a bit more to insure but I haven't got the quote back yet.

Your priorities should go like this:

'08 LS460L
'07 LS460
Anything else

Thats a tough decision. But to be honest, I would say go with either LS as long as they have a cpo warranty.

I have mad love for the Avalon but I doubt I would get one over an LS. As long as the LS has CPO warranty it's the better choice imo.

$35K for 07 LS460 and $36K for 08 LS460L are really good prices for CPO. I suspect these are not CPO's. I would go with the LS, hands down. Way better car than Avalon. LS is the best, top of the line, ultimate sedan Lexus/Toyota currently build.

No CPO on either Lexus. Small Used Car Lots. Well one bigger lot (LS 460 at a dodge dealer) LS L at a small mom & pop used car lot.

CarFaxes say both cars just came off a lease, and both show clean, BUT I will say, I drove a LS L that the car fax show as clean, yet the dealer said and showed proof of an accident. That is a bit disturbing to me.

My biggest issue is the miles I put on. With a new car, I get about 2 years before it's an issue, if I get the used cars, first off they are older / same year as my current car (2008 Avalon with 65,000 miles on it), and by the end of the year, both will be at 65,000 +-, and by the end of next year 85, 90,000+-. Which means I'm keeping either Lexus for at least 5 years, and then what will they be worth with nearing 200,000 miles on them.

I currently trade about every 2 years, but I'm thinking the next car is here for 4, 5 years. So what's the cost of ownership over the next 150,000 / 5 years on the Lexus?

I guess I'll need to check into 3rd party warranty on the Lex.

Ok, so I can get an extended warranty policy from Lexus for about $1400.00 for 3 years … that's an option?

be sure to check that the 07 is still under manufactures warranty as you cannot put the Lexus warranty on it if its past the 4 year in service mark .id get the Lexus with an extended warranty by Lexus no third party.good luck

The 07 is at 42,000 miles and I was told has the reminder of the factory 50,000 warranty on it.
