I was interested in purchasing an 08 LS460 until I recently did some significant research. A large dealer in Dallas told me their allocation last month was 120 cars and they got 8. What this means is new cars are going for sticker and the used car pricing has and will continue to rise. All of this is a result of the lack of cars and parts coming from Japan. I have 2 friends in the car business who suggested that if possible I wait until years end to allow inventory's to catch up and prices will get back to normal. If anyone has any other ideas, input is appreciated.

 

As how you are looking for used instead of new I think I would focus on private sellers on mediums such as auto trader, etc. rather than dealer inventory.

The private sellers are not as likely to maximize their price points as how they are not looking at their dwindling inventory and may need to move their cars in order to purchase something else; even if not a Lexus.

 

Check Ebay as well...

 

Also a good time to take a look at the Hyundai line of vehicles...pretty impressive...really.
