Default Road Noise on 2007 Model

I have an '07 LS 460 that is very noisy. It has had the wind noise fixes, and I don't believe this is the problem, judging from the noise itself. Rather, I feel it is road/tire/chassis noise from below. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport A/S with about 30,000 miles on them, so they are nearing replacement. Are all 2007 models noisy? If so, are the later models quieter? And if they are, does anyone know what modifications were made to the later ones to dampen the road noise? I've thought about adding undercoating, sound-deadening mats under the carpet and behind the rear seat, etc. Your thoughts?

I am pretty sure its the tires. I had a set of Michelins Pilot sport AS plus tires on my GS and they were silent. If you are getting noise in your LS I would replace the tires

I have new Dunlops, not the quietest tires, but the car itself is superbly quiet, mine is also an 07.

I have a 2007 LS460. It still has the original Bridgestone tires. I had to repair the trim on the front doors because of extreme wind/road noise but after that it has been exceptionally quiet. I keep my tires inflated to 33 PSI (cold inflation).

I drive 30 miles each way to work, and there is a ~1 mile stretch of that road (George Bush Tollway crossing over Hwy 75) that generates some insane road noise in my LS. For the rest of the trip the car is as quiet as you'd expect. For the 4-5 cars I've driven to work over the years, none of them has had this problem with that stretch of road. Also to look at the stretch of road it doesn't look any different than any other part (smooth concrete rather than asphalt).

I suspect that the particular tread pattern of the tires just doesn't agree with that stretch of road for some reason. It's possible that you're having the same problem.

It may just be the tires are nearing end of life. I haven't noticed it on my '07, but my '01 LS430 would get a lot of road noise as the tires were getting near the end of their tread life, to the point where I kept checking to see if a window wasn't fully up.
