Bearing or Tire Noise ??
1993 LS 400 85,000 miles - Has Pirelli P4000 tires - a few months old. Perhaps it is because LS is so quiet otherwise but it sure sounds like tire noise to me - are these tires known to be noisy on the LS - Is noise from a worn wheel bearing a possibility ? Noise starts at 15 to 20 MPH stays pretty much constant at higher speeds. Any way to tell without swapping tires ? Appreciate any thoughts. - Herm

A couple ways to check...
You will have to do something for sure here:
1. Jack the car up and check wheels bearings condition for play/looseness & noise (shake and spin them).
2. Check tires for uneven wear and
3. Rotate the tires and see if you hear any change

Road Noise! Im rolling on my third set of P6000 tires
and they are loud. I find the tires loud, but love the
handling due to the dry seasons and rainy seasons
in FLA. Having worthy tires is well worth a little extra
noise.

Thanks for the thoughts! I'm using P4000's (as opposed to the P6000's mentioned in the reply). I can certainly live with the tire noise but I just want to be sure it is tire noise as opposed to something else - Herm
