Default Lexus extended warranty transfer

Hi guys,

I just discovered that my car has an extended warranty purchased by the previous owner. How do I get it transfer to me? I bought the car from the private dealership and they have no idea who the original owner is. The car was serviced out of Lexus of Austin, although that dealer won't give me the name or any contact info of the previous owner for private/security reason. .

It can only be transferred one time. It can't be transferred to a dealer. I would call Lexus Corp. and see if they can help 1-800-25 Lexus. You will have to wait until Monday to contact someone...

Good luck!

When I bought my extended warranty I was told that when I sell my car I can either transfer it to the new owner or return it back to Lexus for a pro-rated refund. If trading the car to the dealer the only option is the pro-rated refund. I hope this helps and good luck let us know how you make out.

You can do a couple of things to get the info needed. Contact your state insurance commission and find out the name of the person the vehicle was insured to by vin#. 2) find a police officer and have them run a CC on the vin number. That will give you the registered owner on file and all others that the vehicle was registered to. 3) go into lexus.com/maintanence, set up your new info and that will also tell you the in-service date and poss original owner........hope this helps

will need to look into the state insurance comp.
already contacted the cop...he looked it up and it was registered to the dealer..no indiv owner's name since the car was a lease...this is done by vin or plate #.
lexus.com/maintenance doesn't have owner name.
