Default brake noise issue

My 08 LS460 makes a clunk sound when brake to a full stop. It is as if something is loose and bang down from behind. anyone has or heard of this issue?

may i also clarify that this noise is a single "clunk" noise as if you have a ball or something in the trunk that hits the wall of the car when brake...not the series of "clicking noise" as in case of many actuator mentioned. I checked and there is nothing in the trunk and spare tires/jacks etc are secured.
There is something loose down there...I think. Taking the car in tomorrow.

I dropped off the car at the dealer today. Got an es350 as loaner. Suspension is soooo much smoother than my ls460. Def something wrong with my suspension.

My car has been in the shop for the last 4 days for this strange thumping noise coming from the front (29,350 miles). No detailed diagnosis as of yet. I have been told that some special parts have been ordered, and will be late next wek before I get the car back. Will keep everyone posted. In the meantime, I am also driving an 2011 ES350 loaner. I am extremely surprised as to how quiet and zippy this car is.

Your noise is from the front...mine seemed to be coming from the rear...I have a feeling something is loose/broken down there...
