Default BEND VOSSEN: I hate freeways after rain!!!

10 freeway just east of LA caused this cruising 70mph in the fast lane! I think I am going to roll stock 19's until the rain stops in summer time and the state fiscal crisis is over. Damn CalTrans. Its gonna cost me $600 for the front 22 vossen vvs-083. Hopefully i dont need to replace the tire too.

ouch, sorry to see that. hopefully the tire has no bubble. but at least you can replace the whole wheel for quite low price. some wheels, repair is almost your only option

but yeah, the weather these days create a lot of potholes everywhere. my gs is staying home most of the time and i am just driving the m3 (don't care)

Post up some pictures of your car with the wheels on. I would like to see it. I am going to be shopping for 21's or 22's

X'cuse me for asking, but why in the world are you doing 70 mph on a rain-slicked freeway?

Unfortunately most of our freeways suck already, and with the recent rain it had made much worse on both street and freeway.

It happened on the eastbound 10 freeway between atlantic and san gabriel blvd. The pot hole I hit was right before fremont in th fast lane. Looked like a strip of road right next to the double yellow line diamond lane where your tires ride was repaired with street asphalt (the blacktop type) in lieu of proper grooved freeway concrete. That particular night was clear and the road was dry, hence the driving 70 mph issue. I drove back around to snap a picture twice to see where I hit and the pothole looked at least a few inches deep. I called the caltrans hotline for claims under $5K, I could do was leave a vmail with my info and they will "hopefully" send a form for the claim then assign it to an investigator. With a 80% denial rate I hear about, hopefully my ammo with the picture and a sloppy video do some justice.

I think at 70 mph on a 30 profile tire in a car that weighs about 4700 lb with a driver and BOOM.....you got a bent wheel. Forged wheels may be resistant but any wheel will bend if you hit it hard enough

Thanks so much for the heads up on the location. I wish you the best in your claim with caltrans. Here in AZ I hear they pay in less than 4 weeks and you just need to sub,it the claim with some photos and an explanantion of what happened. One of my staff just went through the same thing out here in AZ
