For about $10.00, I'd just replace the rubber inserts:

I think the issue is that you can't lift the blades off the windshield because the hood blocks them (open or closed). I think stopping wipers mid-wipe is probably the best solution other than having the dealer replace them.

Holy "Revival of an Old Thread". LOL.

FWIW, stopping the wipers half way up their stroke is the proper way and is the same procedure for many cars (including my previous 7 series BMW). For 12 bucks, I got OEM inserts at the Toyota dealer and my parts guy there even installed them for me. I stopped buying aftermarket (even Bosch) wipers long ago and only stick with oem. They just seem to be superior in every way from chatter, to streaking to longevity.

$12 for inserts!!! Holy cow!!! Dealer wanted $50 or more to replace mine a few weeks ago. There must be a difference between replacing the whole blade and just the inserts. I will ask about the inserts. Thanks.

Most auto parts stores and oil change places where you can purchase wiper blades will install them for free.

You're welcome my friend. Also, keep in mind that this was in Canada.....probably cheaper down your way!

Take a good look at your LS wipers first, then walk into a Hyundai dealership and check out a Sonata. Hmm...
