Default Relentlessly Searching!!

Good Day/Night folks,
I'm looking at getting a used/certified LS460SWB. Hoping to find a Black or White with preferably black interior. I would also fall for a Smoky Granite Mica with the black interior. But before I do, I have a few questions about the vehicle that I can't find on the internet, or I'm just not too sure about. I would like to get an '09 so I don't have to worry about the Valve Spring Replacement Recall, but an '08 will suffice. Also hoping to find one with the Nav/ML system. I've been looking online, and saw some models with another button next to the PWR/SNOW button in between the front seats. "Ride Height/High", does this button raise the car? What is the purpose? I first thought maybe you could lower the car a bit when you were on the Highway/Interstate to "cut" through the wind. Now I doubt myself and deductive reasoning the more I see the option.
I'm moving up from an '03 Maxima SE 6sp. I'm tired of being "Fast & Furious"lol, and just want to get from point A to B in luxury. I was hoping this car would do all this with "style." I'm also sort of a technology geek and was hoping to find one with if not all, a lot of the bells and whistles, without a lot of miles on the odo.

Thanks in advance,

ICE

I believe its controls Adaptive Variable Air Suspension (AVS)

the AVS is a computer-controlled system that continuously adjusts shock-absorber damping rates to help provide appropriate ride comfort and handling precision. Sensors monitor wheel speed, engine rpm, steering-wheel movement, brake application and vertical body motion to determine the ideal damping rate for each shock absorber. The driver can also select the ride firmness with the press of a button.

I have only seen this on the Long Wheel Base.

Good luck finding your LS. This is a huge step up from your Maxima... and with 380 ponies its no slouch either!

if you see ride height/high button, that car is equipped with the air suspension. if you are looking at swb, then that car is awd? i don't think air suspension is available on any swb unless it's awd (or for 2010, ls460 sport)

I don't necessarily need AWD I guess. But don't know if I really need the 5 extra inches of the LWB. Besides, the price jumps atleast $10000 for the extra ammenities it comes with. Reclining/Massaging RR seat, heated rear seats, etc. I would like to have the "floaty" feeling going down the road.lol I still haven't ridden/driven one. Had the chance a few weeks ago, but someone bought the car b4 I got there to test drive it. Oh well, one day. God willing, I'll test drive and like the LS enough to buy it. I've already sold it to the wife, just got to find the "right" one. I don't want to buy it unless it's everything I want. I don't want to settle on something else and be unhappy 6 months down the road. I apologize if I ask alot of questions. I would just like to have as much knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. Thanks again for all the help.

On the '08 LS460 does the ML sound system have 19 or 10 speakers? I see a few dealers say it has the ML sound, but it only has 10 speakers. I was wondering if the 09 and later were the first to have 19 speakers. Thanks

That's what I thought. Unless they just don't know what they are looking at. Are the speakers pretty obvious, or are they somewhat hidden if you don't know what you are looking at/for? Can they look up a car by the VIN and see what options it has, so they can post in on cars.com or autotrader? If so, then maybe the dealership folks only see 10 but its actually 19, and that's why they say 10. Idk, just making an excuse for them I guess.lol I just don't want to go out of my way to make a trip to see a car to get let down.

Cool, that's what I thought. I was assuming it was just like Bose, Harmon, etc. and would put it on the stereo or console somewhere. Thanks.

yup, ask for a picture of the radio face plate and you can see if it's ML

also, i believe on the speaker grille for the front door speakers, it has ML badge
