Default LS 460 Illuminated door sills

Hello Everyone:
Does anyone know of the latest info on LS 460 illuminated door sills. I have heard of ones on the 2010 LS 460 sport but since this is newer model they will probably be as expensive as the Japan ones. I did the research to find the $900.00 ones from Japan. But I just can't go for that price since some of the other Lexus models have the illuminated doors sills for a lot less. I wonder if I purchased illuminated door sills from another model and they would fit the LS 460? Or try to make them fit the LS 460? I have found illuminated door sills on the LS 430, would they fit the LS 460 too? What do you think? Any help would be great since I really like the illuminated door sills.

I am always amazed no one made a nice aftermarket version of this where it is not 1000 bucks.

Anyone ever try taking the illuminated part of a different Lexus model door sill and see if it would fit into the ls460 door sill?

Hi Bigsherv, I am also deterred by the steep price of the JDM illuminated door sills. Since the LED section has to show through a cut out in the metal sill plate, it seems unlikely that we could swap only that piece into a LS460 door sill. But we won't know unless some one tries! Here's a project for you

Didn't SW17LS post on here about a month ago with some pics of what he installed? They were very reasonably priced from what I remember - like under $75 for all 4 and, while not my thing, they looked like they produced a very sharp and crisp image on the ground.

Right, mine are projector lights. I'd like illuminated door sills too, but not for $1,000

Question 1 is can you separate the metal part from the plastic part?

Just now I was looking at the accessories available for my 13 AWD L when I was logged into the Lexus Drivers site. They list front driver and passenger side illuminated sills for 450 so these appear to be available stateside now for a more reasonable price then having to source them from Japan.

I would normally google this but I am out of the country with limited connectivity; could you post the link?

Wow, that would be a really great upgrade at that price. Should check it out. The site is currently down for maintenance.

The ones from Japan are still nearly $1000. Here's a link. It also comes with blue LED, but the white looks better IMO.

Here's the link. You have to log in and select your vehicle before it will show the available accessories.

I should have read Dolph's message more carefully. They only sell the sills for the front doors at $450. The $1000 kit from the Japan site above includes the rear door sills also. Since the front doors see the most use, it's good to have the option for only the front doors. But I initially thought the $450 was for all four doors. So, I won't be getting it!
