Ah, but I forgot to mention:
After the accident, there was a loud hissing of escaping air and the car sank down as the air suspension flattened.
As the bumper was ripping off
, the air suspension lines ripped out as well.
And don't forget those park assist sensors in the bumper.....
In 2 weeks, my lease is up. I wonder if the dealer will notice the missing bumper....

Ouch - that could really be expensive if for example the tabs on the headlights are also broken off. I think you have two choices - look for a real cheap repair and hold your breath or just turn the car in with the insurance check for the damages. They might even want to charge you for the excess time on your lease while the car is repaired.
My wife pulled out in front of a speeding truck a few years ago and his bumper hooked the front bumper like that and just ripped the whole front off. I've forgotten (with some effort) what it cost but the damage was quite similar and did include at least one of the HID headlights.
I did have a leased Accord with lesser damage but the rear bumper torn off right at lease end and I was able to get it back together with some parts from ACE hardware successfully.

I still am, it was just an amusing thought....
Having said that, last week I test drove a Maserati Quatroporte (4-door sedan).
That was astounding. It grabbed me by the throat the instant I drove onto the road.
What it lacks in refined amenities (auto-close doors, radar cruise control, even cup holders until last year, etc.) it more than makes up in raw sensuality and, to be un-PC, Alpha-male appeal.
The snarl of the engine was every bit as appealing as the stealth quiet of my Lexus hybrid. The handling was, of course, completely out of the league of my Lexus.

Although only 1/2 second faster 0-60, and maybe it was mostly the incredible simultaneous sound, but when I pushed it, it shoved me back in the seat far more than the 438 horses in my LS ever did.
Fortunately, they won't have an AWD version 'til 2012, so I'll buy my LS out of lease and have a few years for the intoxication to diminish, if it does.....

You know I've had those granite pillars dart out in front of me as well. Thankfully I have the Pre-Collision option and it automatically braked to avoid hitting it.

Sunday we went to Tutto Italiano Day at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, MA. There were several nice ones there, along with Ferraris, Lambos, Alfas, Moto Guzzis, Ducatis and even a few Vespas.
