Default So Lexus throws me a curve ...

Got a call from my salesman today, telling me Lexus wants to "excuse" the last 6 payments of my LS460 lease if I'll trade for another Lexus now. This is the "pull-ahead" program I've seen GM do for years, but I didn't know Lexus did it.

Anyway ... my lease includes about $5k of negative equity I rolled into it when I got the LS, so it's undoubtedly a good deal for me in that respect. But honestly, I don't really want another LS. And GS's and ES's and RX's aren't on my radar, either.

Just thought it was interesting they were doing pull-aheads.

I've heard about them doing it for years now.... not sure if they actually called people before, but I guess I could see them doing it now. Toyota has taken a huge economical hit recently and they are trying to do anything they can to keep your business.
On the side note... why don't you like LS anymore?

MikeTX,

Hope your excuse for not buying another Lexus because you had experienced Huntsville sales staff? Please see my post above

Actually I was surprised at the shakiness of the car at 130 mph (electronic limited) and cross winds turbulence. I used to have RL and S class at it was smooth and rock solid at high speed as it is at 80 mph.

Hmmm - guess I just missed it in the past.

As for the LS, it's not a matter of not liking it. I just get tired of the same thing and like to get something different. The '10 LS is going to look virtually the same as my '08, and the controls, gauges, interior, etc., are essentially the same, so it will be like having the same car for 6 years.

I guess I'm just ready for something new and different. I'm just a kid.

Nope, no Huntsville experience - I'm in the DFW area.

I've had the LS up well over 100 on many occasions, although I don't think I've hit 130. I didn't experience any instability myself, but maybe conditions were better.

I didn't experience any vibrations at max speed on the 460 and 600. Could be coming from tires.

Shaking is almost certainly an imbalance problem with the tires. If your dealer doesn't have a Hunter, take it to a tire seller who does.

There are 'shims' that stabilze the brake pads. Sometimes these are loose or missing and can cause vibration. Not dangerous, just not right.

Try the new LS Sport. That'll be something a little different

Maybe you should check out an IS-F? That would be new and fun...

i am expecting to get a letter from lexus soon for our gs350 about the 6 months return. lexus has been doing this for years already, dated back to at least 2004. we did the same thing on our sc430 when we got our ls460l. great deal if you ask me, especially when you know you will be over miles or so by the end of lease.

but i feel you mike. i never get the same car, so for you, i don't know what else you can get...?

Which cars are you thinking about Mike? Are you staying with a sedan or going for something sportier? I test drove the Nissan GTR back a few months ago and it would be high on my radar.

I'm a buy and hold kind of guy but I am a little envious of people who lease because they have the luxury of trying out new cars every couple of years.

LOL. You're getting warm ... it *could* be an Infiniti M56.

Still angling.
