Best Tire for LS460
#46
Just an update, I was wrong about the dunlop SP MAXX GT. They are good tires but they are not meant for a car this heavy even though they have the rating for the load of a car as big as LS460L.
They were really good for the first 10k kms but now there is some kind of weird noise on it.
Bridgestone turanza's are good tires but they run out pretty quick. I think they are not suitable for the hot weather over here (105F +). I think the next choice would be a michellin summer tires.
And I don't own this car but my dad does. So it's all his inputs, not mine.

Michelin Pilot A/S Plus
4,000 miles on them coming from OEM Bridestones EL42, definitely have the drift to the right problem. Annoying as well as seem to be wearing poorly. I wasn't aware of the issue and had it aligned. Wasted $, it was right on. I am appreciating the input and going to have America's Tire make it right, I think they will. I don't think I can live with the constant pull.

I've never had Yokohama tires. You might check on the ratings of your particular tire on Tire Rack.

Tires
Give Continental Pure contact a look
245 45 18 wheels, picked up a set of pure contact, luxury touring tire with very good performance.
I studied the available tires extensively and picked the pure contacts.
Decide your self.

I'm gonna need tires soon for my 07 460L. I currently have Dunlop Sport Maxx 235/50/18. I have the Lexus Chrome 7 spokes. I've read thru this thread but still can't find any that aren't horribly expensive. The dunlop's are cool but I don't feel that luxury ride like I do on my 430. What's wrong? My LS430 has 120k, running Hankook Ventus and my 460L has 52k and rides rough.Any suggestions?

Check out Michelin MXM4 or the Pilot Super sport. Upsize the tire one and you will have a little more sidewall protection and cushion to boot. 9-1200 for a set of 4 new tires is kind of par for the course and since you don't indicate what you feel is expensive, these are the best I can recommend. The MXM4 will last you longer but won't be as sticky. About 50k vs 30k.

Upsizing the tire so it's a hair wider but also giving you a little more sidewall to dampen road feedback a little. But also be mindful of the weight rating.
This tire and size would be a little wider, have a good weight rating for the LS size of vehicle, give the surefootedness you would likely want, and a good long tire wear rating.
255/45/18. Check to see about clearances, but this tire was good on a past car I owned. And you could likely get them for under $250 ea. But I like the Michelin pilot SS.

MichelinHX MXM4
I replaced my Bridgestone Turanzas with the Bridgestone Serenity based on Tire Rack recommendations however the dealer could not get the tires balanced after trying 2 sets, so we switched to the Michelin Pilots A/S. Although a great tire, they pulled my car to the right. We tried rotating but that did not get rid of the pull. I put up with it for 10,000 miles but when the tires started roaring, I complained to Michelin. Michelin gave me a prorated credit and I purchased the Michelin HX MXM4's. Best tire of all. Super quiet, handled almost as good as the Pilot A/S's and are much quieter. I now wonder about "reviews" online.
