I had this same problem and I complained to the dealer and told them I saw on the Lexus owner website that several people had this hinge problem and that Lexus is fully aware of it. They replaced the driver's side hinge and a year later had to do the passenger side hinge. I only paid a fraction of the cost, they covered almost the entire bill. Tell the dealer you will elevate the problem if they don't repair it for you. Truly, Lexus Corp knows this is a problem and they will fix it for you if you follow up as i did. My dealer in NJ didn't even ask me to elevate the issue--they took care of it. That's Lexus on Route 10 in East Hanover--they are marvelous!

Just for clarity, all these issues are with the standard hinge vs the soft-close component available with some packages.
My Lexus advisor had just mentioned staying away from cars with soft door closers, as they were another item of issue, along with control arms and brake actuators.
