There is some great info in this thread! I thought I was the only one that has new spare filters ready but blows out the existing one, which is fine a lot longer than the dealers would ever admit. I couldn't help laughing and thinking the thread should be retitled "the SCREW IT FIX for broken air filter doors". Keep having fun.
It's been a few years, so I don't recall specifically, but a blend door that doesn't move will prevent mixing of hot and cold air and an inability to maintain the temperature you select on the climate control. In other words, climate control stops working properly.
HELLO ALL,I am new to the forum....
Henry here 2013 LS460
Car runs great just had my 100K service
no codes or issues noted...,
just replaced Battery.... AC working perfectly blower working as it should..., when I adjust the temperature there is no heat blowing....( Note) I can feel heat when fan motor is is in low position only.... no heat when fan motor is turned up higher only cold....
I have checked circulation modes and air flow changes as directed in climate control....
THE ONLY PROBLEM...Is there is no heat blowing...
Any suggestions?

I just replaced the filter to see if that works. No change yet.
what I find interesting is that the door lifts open easily and then just falls back down like it is not attached, however right after the car is turned off, the door is like it tightens down and then relaxes how it was. It does this 3x. So I guess that at least shows that the door is still connected, correct?
sound more like Servo?

A word of caution: forcing the door up can possibly cause the piece to break (I think). However, I wasn’t able to pull it forward and reconnect it and so my only option was to just force the door back and hope it reconnects without breaking.
I pulled this as well last month. Be sure to check it before assuming its broken, I got very lucky and mine simply popped off the track. I used this guide in the sticky for removing the glove box(by Shibumi1) its very well written

You'll be able to see it clearly and fix it if it popped out. Next step is making a warning label so it doesnt happen again. I put some pictures and a video on my post, if you want to check it out here. Good luck.
