Default Lexus Credit Card Brownie Points

What's the deal with the Lexus credit card where you get brownie points toward your next Lexus?

Default brownie points

i've had a lexus card for 3 or 4 years. every purchase gets you 1.5 points per dollar spent and every lexus/toyota purchase gets 5 points per dollar spent. at the lexus dealer just tell them you want to use the points and they use it on the bill. the monthly credit card bill will tally the points earned and their equivalent dollar value (i believe 100points=1 dollar). one nice perk is some dealers will let you put some of the purchase price of a car on the card so the points add up quickly since lexus/toyota purchases are higher(5pts/$). points can be used on service, parts and new cars. i'm not sure if leases qualify.
i've got several reward type credit cards and this one is one of the only cards that hasn't reduced its rewards level. info is available at the lexus website under financial services

Default There are better deals

There are better cards out there. I have two credit cards (AMEX and Visa) that both earn a full 2% cash back on ALL purchases, so unless you hardly spend much at all on anything except Lexus products and services, these cards are going to yield a much higher return. And with the cash I earn I can use it to buy cars, pay for service, as well as anything else, since cash is as good as it gets.

it's basically that (just like mb and bmw too). when you use it you get points toward purchase at dealership. if you use the car at dealership you get more points

i have quite some points on mine, umm...

I agree 100 %, even though we don't have Lexus credit card up here anyway ...

and you just need to look out for specials on the card. when we got our ls460l and gs350, they had promotion, basically every dollar you spend at dealership, you get 5 points. and for buying/leasing a car during those 2 months, you get 500 bucks worth of points (50k points) immediately.

so you can take a guess how much we got on our cards and why we are still trying to spend them
