Has anyone had any luck using just the Aux port (1/8" stereo jack)? I have a new 2010 HS and it has both the USB and aux ports. The USB port works fine with my son's Ipod, but I prefer to use an MP3 player, which means I should use the aux port. However, no matter what I stick into the aux port, nothing is recognized.

I'm also wondering if it's possible to add an internal hard drive to the car. As far as I know, they don't come with one, but that would be cool.

if you use the aux, once you plug it in, you should be able to go to aux and it should be feeding off the mp3 player? you will have to manually play songs from the mp3 player of course, you can't control anything from your console

i don't know of any way to add internal hdd. unless you get products like vaistech

the real problem with the 2010 system is how slow it is to find a song or a playlist. I tested the sound from an ipod using the usb port against the ipod using the aux. They sound exactly the same. I believe the reason is that lexus is transmitting analog sound and not digital via the usb port and, of course, anything using the aux will be analog.

But, the voice command for finding a song works fine when connected via the usb.

i made a suggestion to lexus that they change the screen a little to show an alphabet along with the up and down arrows when selecting a plylist of song. it will be interesting to see if they do anything with it. also suggested to them that they show the song name and album art on the map screen. probably will never see the light of day - but i asked.

i have a pioneer f700bt in my other car that has these features and it helps a lot.

No - i'm talking about the song and album art on the map. Maybe in the lower right hand corner and if you touch it the songs info would come up. Would be good for sat also

lexus support is the 800 number then #3
