Default Glove box and center console

Team -

I am about to have Lexus change my ill fitting glove box for one that actually looks like it should be in a product from Lexus. Have many of you had this performed? If so, how was your experience?

Secondly, I searched the forum as I saw a bunch of info about the center console and something about it auto closing. I couldn't make heads or tails of this. On my car, the console with close some of the way with gravity but requires human help to make it all the way. Is this not to spec?

Thanks!

I had my glove box replaced. There is a TSIB on it. The replacement was free. The door now fits properly without the unseemly gap between the door and the box.

Mine closed by itself for the first week, then needed a little help. Tech said it was working right - its hit or miss whether the showroom LS460 actually does it.

So I got my metal file and took a little off the hard plastic base of the 2 retractable guide pins on each side at the front of the sliding console. Has closed by itself for the last 2 years!

I had the glove box replaced on my 460, and the end result was good. It has not been an issue on the 600, and in fact overall, I've found the fit and finish to be better.
