Okay, got the emailed answer from the shop foreman..
"The touring package front rotor, caliper, and brake pads are different from a standard LS.
The brake rotor and the caliper is a 4 piston and is the same size as a non touring car, but they have different part numbers."

When I bought this option I wanted know what I was getting. I was told by the salesmen it had 6 piston brake calipers. I should have known better to believe a car salesmen...I could not find any information about it either. I do know the caliper is the size of a half moon, it's almost half the size of the rotor.

I did test drive a stock/non touring LS and the brakes are like night and day to me. I would highly recommend if someone wanted to change the parts as an upgrade, but through Lexus I imagine it would be very expensive to do. May be better off with Brembo's if they make them for the LS.

The only thing is he says "their different but the same size", I'm not sure what he means but I'm guessing they are a different design

Barnaby: Even though this was an option for the LS I believe it was standard equipment on the 600, not positive.

When I bought my 07 it was among the first made and when I chose the options Lexus did not have things ironed out. If you went to Edmund's they had a list of options, if you looked at the factory brochure they has similar but different options. When I went to order it from the dealer they had even different options. I know because of the touring package that included the adjustable suspension I could not get rear air, window shades, Lexus link if you can believe that and radar cruise. I paid 77k before tax and tags 83,330 OTD.

when i bought my 04 LX470 the salesman told me it had HID lights stock. They don't even have HID lights as an option. I was so upset I kept checking the lights why they looked like regular lights. I had to update them myself with a retrofit kit.

Yes, there are some real uninformed clowns out there, no matter if you're buying topshelf or cellar. On rare occasions, you'll find one that takes his job seriously, is twice removed from the jock mentality, and can recite the alphabet without a teleprompter. Take him home and introduce him to your daughter.
