Let's Help Lexus: How Would You Improve the LS?
just curious, each side also has a temperature control button to adjust their corresponding temperatures right?
i also like the staggered wheels and available 20in wheels
.
Mine was sterling gray on black. I loved the car but couldn't keep it out of the shop. I had the staggered 19" sport wheels but like the Lexus Touring 19's better because they are easier to clean and I can rotate them.
the service guy said my problems were due to the fact i had 22inch vellano 3pc forged wheels!
I just bought a 2009 LS460 on Thursday. I am still getting to know the car but I can tell you that having to take 5 steps to make a phone call is ridiculous. I traded in a 2006 Acura RL and it took one step. Press the talk button and say "call #". Done. What is all this "Dial by number", having to wait every time you push the talk button for the voice prompt, etc. Very inefficient design, very frustrating.
I was amazed an IPod jack was not standard. I am getting the IPod add on installed on Wednesday and have been assured it is user friendly. If it isn't I will be paying a very unfriendly visit to my salesman. Also, what is the point in having a hard drive with basically no flexible functionality?
Other than these things I love the car!

All said and done, the bottom line is...... Mama Lexus needs to listen and listen very carefully to its existing customer base. These inputs are far more accurate and valuable then a hired consulting firm's opinion based on random sampling of a few scientifically chosen.

To turn off the voice prompt, you can use these steps:
That should eliminate the waiting for most voice commands. The voice dialing could be more simplified, I find the easiest way is to use the 1-touch dial buttons, but IIRC you can also program voice tags for numbers as well.
1) Passenger Memory seats;
2) STRONG, piercing amber LED turn signals - front and back; Even Hundays have this!!
3) FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, UNLOCK THE DAMN NAV !!!!
4) Improve the tranny software. It up shifts waaaaaay too early on most situations. (It shifts correctly only when you floor it).
5) Gimme some better designed wheels... The LS is selling to younger buyers now.
6) Sound proof the wheel wells. Road noise is ridiculous for a car of this price.

but what's the difference from turning it off? when you press the button again, it will play again from where you stopped right?
