Lexus LS460 vs Jaguar XF
i really like the way new jags look, look some what similar to Aston martin, but i am sure the quality and class is not the same as LS, even though LS would be slower a bit i would take the LS. I wanted to go faster i would get audi s8. i wish lexus comes out with a faster LS and GS

I currently own a 2008 LS460 with the dark grey exterior and black interior (much more luxurious looking) and I absolutley LOVE driving this car. I am a dealer and so normally I buy at auctions and flip. But we purchased this last December for me as my daily driver, finally got it all repaired (front end damage) and while it may look like an old man luxury car (so say my daughters ), it is an absolute dream to drive for long trips through the mountains, 130 on the freeway YAY! I am 56 and really like my creature comforts like the heated seats and steering wheel, telescoping steering wheel (I'm 5'3) and all the various tech stuff it comes with. It really is a beautiful vehicle. And floats down the road with all that power, mmmm... I sold a 2016 Avalon last month and drove it for a few weeks and it was a really really nice car too. Toyota just makes a truly outstanding line of cars.
My partner wants me to sell it and get a newer style Jag that he feels would be more fun for me and a little bit sportier and faster (I do love me a FAST car) - so I put a bid on a 2012 XF Portfolio - the shifter looks weird btw. One thing I like about the LS is sport mode shifting - I had this in my 2008 Genesis and it was really fun for the times I wanted to feel like I was driving a stick. But I had a knee replaced 8 months ago and a manual isn't really an option right now, so although I realize its still an automatic, the sport mode offers me the feel I love of manually shifting and reving. The Jag won't give me that with a dial shifter (sad).
I am also concerned about the dial shifter in the Jag going bad. Anyone experience that happening? And if Jaguar truly is built by Ford, I recently sold a 2012 Titanium Fusion and while it was pretty and fast, it had a cheaply made interior and looked like it would wear out quickly. I'm concerned the Jag would be the same. Nothing like the 1979 XJ-12 I loved and was my dream car as a child.
What do you guys think? Keep my Lexus or try out the Jaguar? I guess if I don't like it, I can always sell, but I really want something to keep for myself.

I went from a 2006 Lexus GS300, had it for 9 years never had one warranty claim. Traded it in (huge mistake) for a 2015 Jaguar XF Sport, had it for 3 years and took it in for repairs once every year I had it. It was way sportier and turned a lot of heads but was unreliable. In 2018 I traded that junk in for a 2016 Lexus LS460 F-Sport. It was 2 years old with only 3k miles on it when I bought it. I have had it since and have only taken it in for repair once for air ride compressor. I absolutely love this vehicle and can’t wait to drive it every day. You probably guess my suggestion.
Gypsy I'd stick with the Lexus. If a Jaguar, any Jaguar, doesn't need the parts cannon it's only a matter of time until it does. Whether it's new or used, Jaguars never had a reputation for any kind of reliability and the newer models are even worse. "You better not buy a Jaguar, unless you have another car available, if you expect to keep your job" is what I've heard. Personally I wouldn't own a Jag if you gave it to me...
