I'm down at Hendrick lexus right now, I brought a clients 460 for the 15k service. At the 10k service the front windows were replaced and the new ones don't have the security etching. I spoke with the guy who owns the car he said he just wanted to see what he can do about it. The guy at lexus said there not necessary, it's like having insurance but not holding your card, you still have insurance. Do you agree, are they not necessary? Or should I fight it and tell them to get them

 

If it were me I wouldn't worry about that. Are the rear windows etched? Save your fight for something else later.

It is possible the work was not done properly; there are a lot of little steps that have to be done right as wind has a way of sneaking in the tiniest cracks. I suggest you bring in or make them aware of Jmcraney's work on this topic, including his most recent refinements today. Some, like you who had the Lexus TSIB fix were not satisfied with the results and found later that implementing Jmcraney's fix cured everything for good.
