Illuminating door sills
Paying that much for the illuminated door sills bothers me a bit, since I got illuminated door sills as standard equipment on my almost 7-year-old SC430

I agree. I was surprised the SC430 had it and that's great... Lexus should just make it standard or at least a dealership accessory for the LS460.
AlMuhairi Check out this link if you want to buy locally. It's from L-TUNED: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2477
I ordered mine from Japan and they were shipped in 2 days. Let me know.

Can anyone who has done this install on a 460 gives an overview of how to install. Obviously the sill plates are easy to remove, but the wiring is what we all need to know. Were there directions in the kit? On teh 460 do all of them light up- front and back? IN the previous post I am not sure if he is saying the 600 is blue and the 460 is white?
Thanks

Smileman, there are step by step directions in the kit. I will be attempting the installation this week. From what I can tell you are provided with branching clips or scotch locks to tap into the feed for the door lights at each location.
Smileman,
I was able to finish the driver's side today and they look good. Will try and submit some pix. The wiring is very easy once you do it the first time. You tap into a ground wire at each door pin and a power wire behind the lower panel where the seat belt is. Unfortunately, most of the directions are in Japanese so I spent most of the morning trying to figure out the pictures.

Sounds sweet man- you need to grab some pics of exactly which wire you used before you close it up. You still didnt answer whether the front only light up or the front s and the backs? Did the directions tell you which wire to tap into?
The LS430 UL did not include lighted sills. Wish they had and haven't found any replacements available for them.
