it's not available as an option, but it's doable.

I picked up an extra fob at the dealer today, and someone made a mistake and ordered me the card key for my car. I made a stink and they GAVE me the card key for free (since it was already keyed for my VIN anyway), and I got my extra fob they promised as well I didnt even know it worked similar to the fob (except w/o the buttons). Its pretty cool, but not sure id want to keep it in my wallet.

I love mine. Case in point: I picked up take-out sushi a couple nights ago. When I walked up to the car and couldn't open the door, I realized I had forgotten my entire wallet at the cashier's. Phew - another benefit!

Will I be able to open the trunk by pushing the trunk button on the outside of the car with the smart card in my wallet?

yes, you can open trunk.....FWIW, the "sensitivity" of the card is not as good as the FOB....
