Hi, this seems silly, but is there anything I can use the ashtray for? Can't use the ashtray, too small to store anything, and I expect I will never use the lighter.

Some car companies allow you to select the smoker or non-smoker selection which determines choice of a insert.

Right now, I leave it open and lodge my oakley sunglass case, but the case shifts on turns.

Any ideas appreciated, not too many smoker in sunny san diego.

Some cellphones will fit in nicely in there... At least, mine does!

 

i probably opened it twice when i was installing the nav override

 

I use it to store my microfiber cloth which I use to clean the nav screen and instrument cluster cover

 

I like the method used on the LX 570 of the lower center console area as an iPod holder, but that probably doesn't fit here...

 

hmm i thought lexus rid of all ash trays...

my old IS300 and RX300 had ashtrays, and ti thought they disapeared in the newer models

 

for sure they are on 2is, 3gs, and 4ls

 

I wanted to put my datasystems controller in there, I saw a picture of someone else who did it but could never find it again. Anyone ever see that or know how it is done??

 

On game days, I ice down a six-pack of beer in it for tailgating.

Seriously, mine ends up serving as little waste basket for gum wrappers and other small trash. Doesn't hold much, but it's better than tossing stuff out the window ... you know what they say: "Don't Mess With Texas!"

Mike....not feeling bad here....but glad I wasn't the only person who got lost on that gadget. By the way, I kind of like the ash tray closed...has a less cluttered look to it.
