Default Auto-tilting reverse mirror issues?

hey everyone - first just want to say you all have beautifullll cars.. i have an IS and my dad has the LS, and i've been trying to get him to switch with me =p, tell him driving the IS would make him look younger

well anyways, i loved the feature the LS has when you put it in reverse, the mirrors tilt down to show you the curbs/ground better.... and recently my dad says that the mirrors dont work, we live in NY and a little while ago during some freezing whether he started the car in the morning and put it in reverse, he said he heard multiple clicks as though the mechanism was trying to move the mirrors, but the mirrors didnt tilt... and since then he says that it doesnt even make a noise anymore, they simply dont tilt

it no major issue, although its one of those luxury features that make this car over 65,000... and having it not work simply is upsetting.. has anyone else experienced these issues? should he take it to the dealership and see whats up?? just looking for some help.. any info would really be appreciated, thanks

Check to make sure the mirror switch is not in the neutral (middle) position. It should work on the left or right position. If it doesn't, the motor may be defective - warranty repair.

So, if the IS will make your Dad look younger, what will the LS do for you?

As stated above, if it is in the L or R position, its a problem with the mirror. I have seen a lot of open circuts in almost all of the newer model vehicles on mirrors for some reason. It should be a warranty repair assuming it has not been damaged.

If you go into sales, of anything, you're going to make a lot of money!
