very interesting to see just how different cars are configured in different regions. no ML available that's definitely a bummer. but regardless, like you said, price is much lower than s class!

 

There are only 2 options in Singapore. The Mark Levinson system at US$7250, I did not order it as I have to make an indent order for it which will take 3 months but a usual delivery takes 2 weeks (which is already long enough). The 2nd option available is a sunroof at US$2180, which I don't need as Singapore is so hot. The 460 LWB and hybrids don't come with any options as they come standard with it.

Yes they are expensive. Cars in Singapore are expensive, you can't even buy a Toyota Camry here with the base price of a LS460 SWB in the USA.

 

If the car itself are that much more expensive, then so are the options

The new models like LS460 & LX570 increase substantially in price in the U.S. mainly due to the weak USD I think, but still cheaper than in Canada & just about any other country in the world . . .

 

but the 3gs and 2is prices didn't jump a lot?

i don't know about the lx570 (comparing to the old one), but the ls460 i kind of justify. a swb loaded price is actually not too far off from the ls430 loaded. the lwb i would consider it as another "breed"

 

I agree with all of u guys. The US$ is very weak now thats why the options sound so expensive. If this was 2004, the options would sound US$1000-US$1500 cheaper to u guys.

 

Yeah you are so right. The US dollar is weak and everything is pricier, even aftermarket parts.

I'm a little disappointed with the car after a week. The wind noise issue is apparently still not solved as I have some wind noise and a lot of road noise coming from the front window base even though my car comes with the laminated glass all round. I am also regretting not getting the Mark Levinson audio as the standard sound system was not as good as expected. Is the Mark Levinson any better?

 

i am sorry to hear you are disappointed.

to be honest, ML is a must have in this car imho. on the gs, i might say it's a toss. but the ML system on the ls460 is ML reference system. it's in a totally different league, completely blows away ANY other stock systems i have heard in any cars. it's ridiculously good. that's my opinion

regarding wind noise, i don't know, i have none so can't comment. and you are hearing it at the bottom of the window, didn't hear that before. i only hear noise around the mirror area
