All I would say to you is that the personnel at Best Buy stores varies widely, and if you do this, make sure it's not some high school kid taking your car apart.

This also happens at some electronics/stereo shops, but if you pick a high-end one and discuss it with the management, you can usually determine if the people are competent. And insured.

i would probably try good local audio shops before trusting your car with best buy. i can't say for all, but the several bb and cc (circuit city) that i have visited, the installation booth at the back? err......

 

Thanks, Mike and Rominl. I had misgivings about Best Buy myself. I'll look for a good audio store. Pity none of those who've been able to have it installed so far lives in the DC metro area.
