I changed my engine oil and filter at 15K and I don't know how to reset the light. Please help if you know the procedure. It says "Oil Maintenance Required" and has yellow triangle with exclamation mark in middle of it.

yup, it's in the manual. could be wrong, but do you reset it in the navigation -> maintenance screen? find it in the manual

I don't remember the sequence so I guess you will have to look it up to

I believe the LS460 has this system. Sadly I havent changed the oil on many of them. Try this:

Make sure the trip odometer is NOT on 'Trip A' or 'Trip B' (ie: just the normal ODO). With the ignition off, press and hold the reset button. Press the 'Start' button twice without pressing the brake, but while holding the reset button. The dash will let you know its reseting, just keep holding the button until it is done.

 

^^^That is correct. Make sure the Trip/Odometer is set to "trip A". With ignition off press and hold the reset button. While pressing the reset button, press the start/ignition button twice to turn ignition on. Keep watching the trip/odometer display to flash the lines (-----) until you see it flash the zeros (00000) then it'll read out your "trip A" again. Then you release the reset button.

Thanks for confirming that. I knew I was close. The only reason I wanted to confirm that was because some models are a tad different.

 

Yeah. The older ones, you'd leave it on the odometer reading (NOT the trip a). That's the only difference though.

I know the ES350 needs to be on 'Trip A' as well. When I was thinking about it last night, for some reason I had the TPWS initialization stuck in my head. That one is different. I dont see many oil changes so I wasnt 100% sure.

 

BTW, what is the recommended mileage for first oil change on the 460? thx.
