I do notice some tire noise on some roads, but still consider the car extremely quiet. Scary, actually when only operating on the electric motor. I can see why blind groups are concerned.
And personally, I didn't pay much attention to the wind noise before I bought my 600 because I didn't want that thought to enter the universe, and I hoped that my 2008 model would have the issue fixed.
At what speed is the noise generally heard?
i think most people say that around 60-70mph they hear the wind noise
With respect, all CL members, LS 460 owners or not, happy LS owners or not, are allowed to comment in the threads. People naturally are going to have different opinions on the severity of problems. Ideally a problem will come with an answer on these forums, but sometimes that doesn't happen right away. In the meantime free discussion can occur, of both good, bad, and neutral ideas. I feel your frustration but let's try to keep the discussion less personally directed from all sides.

But, up to 80mph, no wind noise.
That's good, considering any wind noise would likely be obscured less by the engine noise in a 600hL than in the 460L with a noisier engine.
I do hear very slight wind noise from the driver's side but only if the stereo is off. But it does not bother me since it is so minute. I drive a 350Z; so the LS is like a vault to me.
Let's all compare our wind noises! Recording it should be a trivial matter. A variety of devices have a sound recording function. Most MP3 players do. In the end it should be an MP3 file with sound of the car going from complete stop before the freeway exit to 70 MPH or whatever your personal speed limit is You can do it for other cars too, just for comparison. This way we will have something material to talk about, not just opinions.
Romil, I think you need to actually own the car to "believe" or offer a relevant comment.
If you don't own the car or are not experenceing the problem why do people still feel the need to comment on this thread.
I may not post here again because of such a bunch of apologists for Lexus. You post a frigging problem hoping for someone had a dealer figured out the solution and share the fix. Al you get is BS from certain people and moderators apologist saying your a whinnier. You guys are whacked out......

personally i think that's a great idea, but it will also depends on couple of factors (if we can normalize them as well)
1) recording volume
2) road noise? road surface?
3) where to put the recorder? it has to be mid air to avoid vibrations from the car
I've had my lwb since January. It definetely has the wind noise problem. The driver side is more of a problem than the passenger side. My car is scheduled to have he TSIB performed on Oct 30th when the company tech is due at the dealership.
I will report the results when I get the car back.
It's ok for non-LS 460 owners to post here, so long as this forum is focused on LS 460 discussion. I myself would not choose a DTS either but different people have different opinions and we can respect that. The most important thing is that the owners of their respective vehicles enjoy their vehicles.
To those who do not experience wind noise problems in their LS 460s, good to hear of it. Those who still have the issue, hopefully it can be improved through the TSIB, and in the newer models eliminated.
You have to have a nose for complex matters such as that. It helps brings one quickly to the source. However once found, it puts a new meaning to the phrase, "His time had come to pass...".
