Default E550 vs LS460???

I am really leaning towards the e550 now. The lease deals on the e550 is $699 VS the $1238 for the ls460. The lease is shorter only 33 vs 36 months. The down is less around $2k on the e class.granted it is not bigger than the ls460 but the money difference is huge. I do not understand it?? I am really up in the air right now??

Well, the good thing about leasing the E-Class is that you won't have to deal with the long-term problems related to maintaining such a car.

The LS is a great car to have, but definately better to buy if you keep in the long run. Sure it'll depreciate, but it does have better resale value than the E-Class. If you want more bells and whistles and luxury, the LS is the choice.

If you want a nice luxury sedan with not too much money out of your pocket, the E-Class will do. You can't be rollin' in your car if you can't afford to go out in it...

E550 was our second choice before we bought the LS460..
It's a fast car, I can tell you taht right now.
but it still has the 2003 design on it. NAV location, options in the car feels very dated, especially compared to the LS..
but looking at the lease $$, if you don't need the extra space of the LS, go with the E class.. but.. LS does get a better gas mileage, so in this case, small car does NOT equal better gas..

I just saw some pics of the 07' g37 sedan which look very nice as well. I know the g37 is no where near the same class of the ls but it's nice looking.Honestly, the LS is the only lexus vehicle that has caught my eye.I am looking to purchase a vehicle next week. I am really just confused right now.

With that big of a difference I'd go with E class as well.

Not considering a 3GS?

I think Lexus had one too many... They could have been a lil more original. Plus, I am not the only one that thinks they look alike!

Nissan could've been a little more original since they copied the design from 2GS.

Just get the E.

Honestly, is the e class even in the same league or as prestigious as the ls? Everywhere I pull up people stop and stare. I wonder if I would get the same attention in the e class?

IMO the LS has the prestige of the flagship, much like the prestige of the S-Class. However Mercedes is more ostentatious and an E-Class has the 3-pointed star up front.

I have both. The E550 is a rocket, fun to drive, but very small inside by comparison to the LS. If you want a sportier ride and don't have to carry adults in the back seat, the E is much more fun. If you want a lux ride that pampers 4 adults, buy the LS.

If you're weighing base to base, I can see the entry E550 looking cheaper. Start adding some of the standard equipment, and the price comes up even pretty fast. Equip it with some the options that the LS offers, and the price of the E550 starts to soar. It all depends how you configure it in the end. Lexus' finance rates suck, and the lease numbers are not much better. In conclusion, if you're leasing, and you're not too fussy about options, go for the E550. Unless you can wait for the 2008 to see if Lexus gets aggressive with their rates, or there's some 2007s to bargain with. Three short months from now, the landscape could change radically.

honestly i don't think you will get close to the same kind of attention. i can't say for the area you live in but i will talk about here in cali. e class is sooo a dime a dozen. there are so many of them it's not even funny. especially with the 6 cylinder version it really "dilutes" the crowd.

whereas when there is a ls460, i see people take a second look at the car. could be that the car is new, but to me it's like the s class, it stands out more
