I think if fits, the problem is the calibration of the speedo and all other parts of the software that use that info to make decisions and adjustments in real time.

There were other new threads with no post in it when we had database problems yesterday, you just didn't know it.

i doubt that's the reason.. then people with 22" wheels would have MAJOR problems..

and don't worry about the OP.. it wasn't special..

it's not just the width/offset. the touring and non-touring, the sway bars are different shapes

u know.. i was thinking.. how can bigger wheels hit the sway bar..?
unless the touring wheels are CRAZY wider than regular LS460 or it has a very high offset, i dont see how it can hit it. People are upgrading to 22" wheels and have no problem with the sways in the regular version..

Do you know who started this "rumor"?

I would understand if someone said the 18" wheels will not clear the touring sways since.. the 18"'s will probably have 0.5" less of clearnance~~

(yes i am bored)

like i said, the SHAPE of the sway bars are different. the design of the normal is such a way that the touring wheels will hit the sways. well, at least that's what lexus corp warned dealership and the info we got.

yeah, derrick, did you mean otherwise?!

hello, we have installed plenty of touring edition wheels on regular ls's and had no problems. we even called lexus and they said there was no issue. we were thinking they were just trying to sell more touring models since they claimed you can only put the 19's on. we also have swapped wheels putting the ls factory 18's on the car that came with 19's.
