Is it me, or have the 0-60 performance numbers being reported by various sources been disappointingly short of the 5.4 promised by Lexus?

Is it even quicker then my '03 LS430?

I enjoy the occasional red-light sprint.

If the LS600hL comes in reasonably close to 100K, that should resolve the issue for me. I keep hearing from my dealer, though, that the price will be around 120K-130K.....

Also, has anyone determined whether the downshift hesitation problem has been resolved with the new LS460 transmission?

Road & Track got 5.6 sec. for 0-60 mph & 14 seconds flat for quarter mile, I think that's the best tested #'s for the LS460 I've seen so far that's not from Lexus IIRC.

I don't think the LS430 have ever tested under 6 sec. for 0-60 mph nor come anywhere close to 14 sec. flat for 1/4 mile from any source.

many tested LS's are preproduction, including C&D's recent comparo.

Just have to wait for more tests, preproduction IS350's were running way behind Lexus estimates too.

 

To get the best 0-60 results you need to turn off TRC. A little wheelspin helps to get the revs higher and faster off the line.

 

from my driving, the ls460 is noticeably faster than the ls430 that's for sure

but at the same time i feel that the is350 and gs450h is a bit faster
