andrew, this is crazy, they actually ordered a car and just put it on the show floor. glad you see one man, here in cali almost all the ls460 and ls460l are LOCKED to begin with.... talk about "shortage".... i have yet to hear a place with one with exec package

 

Yes, & actually, I don't think they specifically said the executive package is special order only up here either.
Also, you can configure the car with the executive package on the Canadian website, but I don't think they even include the executive package in the configurator on the US Lexus website, I've tried with my former US zip code 48109 .

I always thought each dealer should have at least one to show potential buyers anyway, & as I said, if you are taller than me, you won't fully enjoy the benefits of the ottoman, I suppose you can still sit more comfortably with the ottoman up partially, but if your legs are too long, you cannot get your legs fully stretched forward with the ottoman fully extended. So people should be able to try it out themselves before they order.
Actually, they only had four LS460's there at the time, & two of them are LS460L's with the executive package, & according to the salesman, at least one of them is not spoken for. Only one of them is the SWB.

Also, I checked out the trunk of the car with the executive package too, I would say it can only hold two golf bags max. Anything more you have to put them in a much smaller bag & stuff it in. The trunk in the LS460 without the rear seat upgrade is significantly deeper.

As for the LS460's being locked up in showrooms, when I went on Tuesday , the cars aren't even in the showroom yet, they are still at the back getting prepared. But since I got my SC from them & they know me, they let me sit in the car to let me check things out.
I did noticed in the past that some of the Lexus dealers locked up their LS430 model in the showroom, but some do not, I think it depends on the dealer.

A Mercedes dealer here I went to last year didn't even lock up their SL65, which cost a lot more, & I can sit in it without asking anybody. The salesman told me they ordered one just to show people. The next week I went back it was already gone(sold).
The LS460L with the executive package is only a little more than a base S550, so I don't see it as such a big deal to have at least one in the showroom.

make it worse, i went by dealership today to try my luck, didn't even see a ls460 around. didn't bother to ask though, but i guess before beginning of next yr i won't be able to really check out the car myself
