In reviewing the literature, it appears that you can't order the Advanced Parking System without also ordering the Intuitive Parking Assist. However, each one must be ordered separately, and the IPA can be ordered without the APS. The APS is clearly defined as the system that allows old ladies to successfully parallel park while they're applying their lipstick. But, what does the IPA get you?

 

IPA just beeps you when you get too close to obstacles, and if it's anything like the 3GS, it will tell you how much to turn the steering wheel to avoid them
