Interesting details from the Longo event. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the release party! I wonder what the reputation of CL is inside Lexus corporate...

From our interactions, historically, they support us. I can't speak for every employee there, but considering they invite us to many special & exclusive functions and sometimes specifically only for CL, they understand the value of the enthusiast community as we are the advocates of their products.

LOL. That's Mike Zimmerman. Nice guy, he's been with Lexus for at least 15 years. I first met him when he was the low man on totem pole. He is very modest and claims not to know much but he's got a MUCH higher job now. Kinda sounds like Mike, I saw him at Lexus of Glendale too. He's always very nice to me.
They won't come here to tell us because they've got more important things to do.

The Lexus Rep inside was a taller skinnier guy. I chatted with him for a bit inside. Very nice guy. The guy in the LS was bald fellow who wears glasses.

Sorry for the change of subject here but earlier in this thread there was discussion about no front passenger memory setting. I think I know why. I believe it is due to the executive seating in the right rear. With the executive seating you have the foot extender. Imagine someone had left the foot extender is in the extended position when he/she exit the car. The next day someone comes in and sits in the front passenger seat. This person hits the front passenger memory seat setting. The front seat would slide back and crush the foot extender in the back. There would be a lot of unhappy customers.

That's just one scenario but I think you got the idea.

how is it different from a person getting into the car and just pushes the seat back?

plus i would imagine it's not hard for the ecu to figure the "collision" and either stop the seat from moving back and beep, or just lower the footrest in the back. that's not hard to do. on the sc430 if you push the seat back enough, the back of the seat will incline up to avoid hitting the rear seat

don't get me wrong, could be part of the reason, but doesn't seem to be the whole picture yet

I don't even think it's a legitimate reason at all, I think most LS460's in N.America will still be driven by the owner with a passenger in the front & no passengers at the back more often than not . . .
