Default more LS460 info

i talked to my sales rep today and he told me that the car will be available as of oct 20, but only the basic ones. they will be the standard length with a few common options. the L will follow a month later, and optioned out L's will take 90-120 days to get. so i guess i am gonna have to wait till jan or feb next year to get my car.

Maybe go for the LS600hl. The wait is only a couple extra months

thats not true... there are allocation lists on these forums for some regions, and there are no base cars arriving... In fact, most of them will be with better packages.

As much as I remember, top of the line, everything on it, was at least 5% in allocation...

Default Orange County Auto Show

Is anyone going to the Orange County Auto Show in Anaheim this weekend? They have an LS460 on display. I wonder if it is a pre-production model or an actual production unit.

The preview in the Orange County Register states the starting MSRP is $65,000. This is the first time I have seen a number in print without the word "estimate" next to it. I wonder if this is official information. If so, it seems likely that the LWB would be around $72K, based on the difference in pricing we have seen on the MBZ and BMW models, but of course I'm just guessing on this piece of information. Don't hold me to it.

I heard from a salesman at the dealer I take my truck to, (lexus/toyota dealer) that the cars will take up to a year to be delivered if you are ordering the car now. A whole year wait for those who want to buy it now.

it will cost about 1 million, and it will take around 3 years to get it, if you ORDER NOW. I just talked to my moronic salesman and it must be right.

Just out of curiosity, how come the new models keep having waiting lists and manufacturers can't keep up with demand. Yaris, Fit, Prius, Matrix, Versa, Mazda3 etc.

I believe the Matrix is the earliest at Feb 2002. Before hand, I don't recall any new mainstream models ever having demand outstripping supply.
