This is surely to be one of they best mobile audio systems in music clearity department. Very impressive. Might as well put some speakings in the hood, wheel wells, and glove box

Thanks for posting.

i got a copy of that as wel. being the new ML reference system, i can only imagine how good this is. i actually wonder if they have any difference in setup between the ls460 and the ls460l. given that i think the cabin would be a bit different between the two

i also love the idea that the rear passengers should hear all sound as well, not just the base

I know this is one of, if not the best audio car system iut there, but I wonder though is it really possible to compare these to those thousand-dollar home systems? Is the engineering really the same as a super huge Mark Levinson home system? Since I don't have one...

Incredible system ... it might just actually unseat the Bang and Olufsen system in the Audi A8 as the best factory automotive audio system in the world.

So the rear woofers are on the headliner?

well, I thought I saw a picture of the LS460 L with what looked like speakers on the headliner.

No, I read that those things scan your body for heat and direct airflow as appropriate.

Yeah, my mistake. I just read the thread in the Car Chat section..

Enigma888 said those are A/C condensors? and also house the sensors.

yeah seems like so. i know the new LS has the systems to sense body temperatures and adjust the systems accordingly, maybe that's what they are for

i believe the sub is still in the rear deck lid

From the Lexus Europe site, this pic shows the condensors...the black panel near the RSES screen is the infrared sensor area (according to the video at ls.lexus.com)

From here I suppose you can rule out certain spots, and perhaps derive the sound system elements.

This image from the new Lexus.jp site's LS pages may provide insight.

anyone ever see that $6300 dollar audio option on the Audi A8, wonder how that sounds vs this, I bet the price/performance ration on ML is far better

http://www.bang-olufsen.com/audi/ ?

I haven't had a chance recently to listen to it extensively. I hope I can sometime within the next year again.

Screw price to performance, when you start spending 100k$ on a depreciating object, it doesn't matter anymore. You want the best money can buy.
