btw, that graphite / dark grey ls460 was exactly the same one i saw and sat in the other weekend. i also turned on the headlights, and spent considerable amount of time trying to find the "brightness control" settings. i even went as far as asking the specialist there (her reply was it's just on and off, no brightness control)

i would definitely love to know where you got the idea of the brightness being in "medium" setting. where is the control?

Agreed. I'd like to know the exact same thing.

GS3rdwow, the brownish colored LS460 that you show in this thread (for example post # 31)--now that you have seen the color swatches on the new Lexus brochure, is the color of that car Truffle Mica or Noble Spinel Mica? I think you said Truffle, but the oval swatch in the brochure doesn't show any brown. It looks grayish, even a little greenish, but not brownish. Thanks for your help. I like the brown in post # 31, and I want to be sure I have its correct name.

I think there's no question that the Noble Spinel Mica is a dark red color, but I agree with you that the supposed truffle color does not always show a brownish hue in some of the pics even though it's supposedly the same car, I think lighting has something to do with it.

I definately won't trust paint colors as depicted in a brochure to be accurate, particularly a scan. Even the real printed one is no substitute for seeing the actual color on the car. I want to know for sure too like you, since I like that color on the LS from the pics & there's a strong possiblility it will be among my top two or three choices.

The problem is I will have to chose my color in August, and I probably won't see ANY LS's in person before that. Thats why I'm trying to chase that color down. LOL BTW, I called my Lexus salesman YESTERDAY, telling him that the brochure was "out," and for him to send me one as soon as he got one in. It arrived TODAY in the mail! So they are available.

The official color of that LS460 is Truffle Mica. That was confirmed to me by the Lexus product planner available at our preview a couple weekends ago. The color chips you see in the brochure are for illustration purposes only. They will never give the true color/effect of the actual car paint.

The full brochure usually is not printed until the actual car is for sale. The brochure that's being circulated is a teaser just like this:
