7-speed or 8??

Based on what a senior Toyota engineer wrote in the second post in the below link, I'm a bit dubious about it really being 8 speed.

does anyone know in Japan, new V35 Skylines(AKA G35) has one model with 8 speed trans?
So it is not unlikly to do so...
But I wouldn't think it will be in LS460 since it is too much cost to develop a tranny just for one model! New IS and GS only have 6 speed.
They better come up with some lexus have manual tranny!(except on IS) That would be a better improvement!!! Just think about a V8 with manual from Lexus!! Sweet!

If they develop a new 7 or 8 speed auto transmission for the new LS, they will eventually upgrade the other models with the new one as well, at least with the higher models like the SC & GS.

hard to say. lexus already give out hints of the v8 IS that is going to compete with the m power cars with 400hp. we know the 460 engine won't be pushing that hp number, so that might be a hint of the 500 coming
