Take it to test and tune night at your local dragstrip. I bet you'll at least be almost a second slower.

Your car, do whatever you want with it, but I don't get it. The LS is a heavy, luxury car not a dragster. It sounds like you are torturing the poor car just to see what it can do, while bragging how little money you put into it. Why don't you sell it to someone who will use it as it was intended and get yourself a Camaro?

"Q ships" (a term coined in World War 1) can often surprise.

I like it.

I don't know, in that case I would turbocharge/supercharge a rusty Camry. I think he is just curious to see what the LS can do with minimum money. The LS is fairly fast to begin with, it would take a lot of money before it would surprise anyone. Not the platform I would choose.

Not many know what a car that has been out of production for a fair while actually is.

Everybody knows what a Camry is.

I'm liking the 460 even more.

I was out and about this morning and saw this car, I think the 460's a better fit in this category than a street racer.

Agreed. Perhaps its my old age, but he LS is better suited to sporty elegance than a boy racer. I like the look shown here, but without the slamming.
https://www.aimgain.net/english/body...0_600h_mc.html. I wouldn't mind making my LS look like that.

Apologies to owner of newer cars, but I think the fourth generation looks better without the huge grille of the newer generations. But definitely not as bad as what BMW did with their new grille.

I like some versions of the predator grills, like mine.

Id actually bet id be a bit faster and have been planning to. My best runs all had major wheel hop, or at best heavy spin with lower psi. With a prepped surface I am confident it’s in the 4s 0-60 range.

I understand what you’re saying to an extent but theres been no compromise to ride quality or luxury features… Its still floaty, quiet, and spacious with superb sound system and cooling, but if i want it to get up and go or overtake it does so a lot more willingly, I actually enjoy the car a lot more now personally.

Also, on dragy it shows im right there and even ahead of some real F cars, with close or same times to some stock Isf Gsf and Rcf. To me it feels like best of both worlds with little to no compromise on my “luxury” feeling ride.

The F cars close to you are not average examples, they are high DA, low traction runs.

maybe once you can manage a sub 5 0-60 and closer to a 13.0 quarter mile, since many races go past 60mph.

Your car will fall on it's face at higher speed because your gearing has moved the powerband downward to the lower speeds, you don't have any additional HP and power is force/time so while you may have a better 0-60 you will have a matching falloff at speed.

You didn't increase the power over time your engine produces with any of your mods so a real F car will be neck in neck with you and then just totally walk/trot away past 60 because they have more power

The gearing just shortens the range, saying it kills the powerband is misleading. A higher-HP car will have stronger overall pull, that’s a given, but its had no major negative effect up top (2.5–3.1s 60–80, 3.45s 80–100) and doesn’t fall off before the limiter. Once the limiter’s removed, there’s still plenty of gear left to use.
